Meet Sandra Donnay, Ph.D., C.P.A.
Meet the leader behind Donnay Consulting Group.
Sandra Donnay holds both a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in developmental psychology from Fordham University and New York University, respectively, and has conducted research on how discrimination and negative stereotypes impact the psychological well-being and academic performance of targets. Dr. Donnay facilitates anti-bias workshops in varied settings with the aim of helping participants understand why discrimination occurs and how they can reduce their participation in discriminatory practices. Dr. Donnay’s workshops are unique taking a broad approach to understanding racism showing that all humans engage in stratification processes – one form being racism.
Her workshops involve the synthesizing and dissemination of scholarly work to help participants understand: Why and under what circumstances do humans engage in racism? How is racism socially and structurally maintained? What can participants do about it? Participants engage in exercises to help them become more aware of their biases and how they can reduce their participation in discrimination (intended or unintended) in their personal and professional lives. Participants will also engage in discussions on evidence – based interventions to improve and maintain diversity, inclusivity, and engagement, in their workplaces.
Dr. Donnay is a former fellow at Penn State’s Research to Policy Collaboration. She is the Founder of The Racial Equity Initiative, a think tank devoted to dismantling racism, by promoting evidence-based solutions to erase economic and social inequities. Dr. Donnay is also a C.P.A. who, prior to her work as a psychologist, spent more than 15 years in varied business roles primarily as an Internal Auditor in Government and Banking sectors.
